After recently gaining the commitment of Cleveland St. Ignatius linebacker Dameon Willis, the Hoosiers added another Buckeye state linebacker this evening. Airius Moore of Beavercreek, Ohio is now the latest prospect to give Kevin Wilson and staff their verbal commitment. The 6-1 215 pound, three star prospect, held scholarship offers from programs such as Cincinnati, Illinois, Ball State, Ohio and Bowling Green but in the end decided Bloomington was the right place for him to continue his football career over the Thundering Herd of Marshall.
In Moore, the Hoosiers are adding the 905th prospect in the country, 37th inside linebacker and 58th overall class of 2014 recruit in the state of Ohio, according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. Last season as a junior, Airius, who is a key contributor on both sides of the ball for Beavercreek High, helped lead the Beavers to a 7-3 overall record and a Greater Western Ohio Conference Central Championship. His hard work on the field led to him being named to the Associated Press Division I All-Ohio second team, Dayton Daily News DI-II All-Area team and Division I Southwest Ohio All-District team.
The 2014 recruiting class is starting to take shape and is now up to thirteen talented commits. Moore adds his name to a list that includes future Hoosiers Dameon Willis, defensive linemen Nick Carovillano, Mike Barwick,Jermane Conyers, Willie Yarbury, defensive back Donovan Clark, offensive linemen Delroy Baker, Wes Martin,DeAndre Herron, wide receivers J-Shun Harris, Coray Keel and quarterback Alexander Diamont.
