With the Hoosier coaching staff looking to add defensive back depth, last night class of 2014 cornerback, Matthew Boateng became the latest prospect to add an offer from Indiana. The 6-0 180 pound Boateng already held scholarship offers from programs such as Kansas, Bowling Green, Marshall and Nevada before IU came calling. "Coach Shelby hit me up and told me to give him a call." Matthew said on how he found out about the offer. "It feels great having an offer from the Hoosiers. I'm sure this will open up many doors for me." He added.

Cornerbacks coach Brandon Shelby didn't just inform Boateng of his chance to suit up for the Hoosiers but also had another message for the three star prospect. "He thinks I'd fit in great and could start at corner early." He said of his potential future position coach. Matthew also told The Crimson Quarry that he plans to take one of his official visits to Bloomington, but isn't sure of a date just yet.
Boateng, who is originally from Canada, is now in Florida playing for IMG Academy. If rankings are your thing, he currently is the 1,582 player in the nation, 126th corner back and 216th prospect in the Sunshine states impressive 2014 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
