Cody Zeller of Washington, Indiana, who has signed a letter of intent to play for Indiana in 2011-12, was one of three Indiana high school players named to the McDonald's All-American team. Zeller is the third member of his family named to the team: older brothers Luke (Notre Dame) and Tyler (North Carolina) made the team in 2005 and 2008, respectively. Other honorees from Indiana are Marquis Teague of Indianapolis Pike (Kentucky) and Branden Dawson of Gary Wallace (Michigan State).
Zeller is not the only connection to IU on the roster. Former IU player Daryl Thomas, a starter on IU's 1987 NCAA championship team, is an assistant coach for the West squad that includes Zeller. Thomas is an assistant to Gene Pingatore, the legendary coach of Westchester St. Joseph's, a school that also sent Isiah Thomas to IU. Congrats, Cody!
