Reports are somewhat sketchy, but the Indiana Daily Student reports, and IU has confirmed, that Sheehey suffered some sort of lower leg injury (ankle?) during practice on Wednesday. Sheehey told the source quote by IDS reporter Avi Zaleon that Sheehey expects to be out "for a while," but IU's release indicates that Sheehey will be evaluated on a daily basis. I presume we will know something more tomorrow. Sheehey has excelled as IU's sixth man this year, averaging 10.7 points per game in 20 minutes per game off the bench and shooting 44 percent from three point range. This news likely means that IU will be two men short tomorrow evening. Earlier it was reported that Derek Elston will miss the UMBC game because of a broken nose suffered in practice. Hopefully, Sheehey will be ready to contribute when IU opens Big Ten play next week at Michigan State and at home against Ohio State, but that seems to be up in the air right now.
