It’s almost time to actually play football (The Hoosier Scoop): A really meaty practice summary from Chris Korman. He provides some info about the QB depth chart, how the true freshmen look, and the NCAA's acclamation period. If you read only one of these links today, this is the one.

In the huddle: Indiana Hoosiers (The Indianapolis Star): Brief practice report from Terry Hutchens.

Big Ten preseason power rankings (ESPN): Rittenberg's first rankings of the season. I'll give you one guess where IU is ranked. I do think his comments about IU are right on, however, particularly noting that if IU doesn't turn the defense around this year, then when?

An explanation of priority seating and the Varsity Points system (IDS Basketblog): This is a few days old, but it's a nice explanation of IU's ticket policies. This entry mentions something that I didn't blog about when the news broke this summer: the decision of the athletic department to award 125 priority points to all football season ticket holders. This essentially gives anyone who buys football season tickets a leg up on those who don't when it comes to getting basketball tickets. Long overdue.
