After weeks in the wilderness, there is now more on topic coverage than you can imagine.

IU's Glass wants festive football atmosphere | IndyStar.com | The Indianapolis Star: I've long been an advocate of the "just win, baby!" school of marketing, but this mostly is good stuff. The knothole park element is unusual for a college football stadium, but if it will attract families and turn young kids into IU football fans, I suppose it's fine. Also, improving the look of the entire Memorial Stadium will be a nice touch. The H-T has some more on this.

Quarterback Chappell looks to provide more relief for Indiana football (chicagotribune.com): Some discussion of IU's lone victory last season and other items.

Paterno tells NCAA to leave Bowden alone (The Indianapolis Star): Big Ten media days notes from Jeff Rabjohns. Apparently the cost-cutting at Gannett means that one reporter is representing the Star's IU and Purdue beats...except the Star doesn't even have a Purdue beat anymore.

This Glass is half full...with enthusiasm!! (Boiled Sports): A thumbs down on the Knothole Park concept discussed by Fred Glass in articles linked above. We were going to find a choo-choo train mascot, or put a railroad crossbuck on the field, or mount an obnoxious train whistle on the scoreboard, but all of the good ideas were taken, darn it.
