Lost weekend in West Lafayette.

Aren't they all, you say?  IU, which entered the weekend tied in the loss column for the Big Ten lead, lost two of three to previously 5-9 Purdue.  IU now sits in fourth place in the conference at 11-6, behind Illinois (14-4), Minnesota (13-4), and Ohio State (13-5).  As always, check out Behind the Plate for more detail and the full standings.  Apparently, IU has a big lead in the Crimson and Gold Cup this year, but that lead must have been accumulated in sports that I ignore.  Sorry, Coach Smith and team, for paying attention.

For those of you who haven't had the chance to watch this edition of the baseball Hoosiers, two games of this weekend's series at home against Northwestern will be televised.  Saturday's game is at 3 p.m. and Sunday's is at 1 p.m.  What better way to celebrate Mother's Day than to find another sport to watch on TV?
