As expected, Indiana, Louisville, MSU, and Purdue are included. Indiana sent multiple coaches to a recent AAU tournament to watch the 6'11" hybrid big man out of Fort Wayne, with Louisville also hot on his trail. Expect this recruitment to pick up steam in the coming weeks.
While it has been inferred as much, David Beatty will be taking an official visit to Bloomington. The 6'3", 170lb, four-star guard out of St. Benedict's Prep in Philadelphia has been mentioned as likely to stay out East for college, but his interest in IU has been consistent and seems to be very sincere.
Seems that Troy unleashed 2 solid Good Troy games in a row to get noticed by CBS Sports. This is what he needed - may not get him a spot on a roster but somebody somewhere will pay him for a year or two to see if he can put it together on a consiistent basis.
Beatty, a 6'3", 170 lb CG out of St. Benedict's Prep in Philadelphia, announced his list earlier today via the tweet seen above. Indiana's interest has picked up as of late, with Beatty calling IU "the mecca of basketball". No word on when his decision will be coming, but the Hoosiers face stiff competition from UConn and Maryland, who have been in the running for Beatty for quite a while now.
Okay, sure! Happy Friday!
based on late season performance, OG getting some pre-season love. Featured as one of a handful of stars of 2017 season.
Michael Porter, who lived in Indiana until his father's job took the family to Missouri, has included IU in his latest top five. The 6'9, 190 lb wing is a super prospect and has become known just as much for his high-flying acrobatics as he is for his all-around play. A school of note is the inclusion of Washington, where his brother Jontay is set to join the basketball team and also where his father just accepted an assistant coach's position.
Yogi seems to be getting a lot of buzz as a guy worthy of the Combine and not getting an invite -
Freddie McSwain, the high-flying 6'6", 220 lb F out of Neosho CC, will make his college decision on Sunday, April 24th. The timing is interesting for Indiana fans, because at the moment, there are technically no available scholarships for McSwain for the 2016-17 season. However, as we've seen in years past, a roster in April can look very different than what it does come the fall. With Troy Williams testing NBA waters and the Hoosiers expressing interest in a number of grad transfers, it is very much a wait and see time for the Indiana faithful.
