We've been have some good discussions on these Thursday Thinkers. I'm proud of you all.
Today, I'm going to make you make a very hard decision. It's one that will probably never come up in your real life, but that's not stopped me yet, so it sure won't start now. The hard decision, which I suggest you put a lot of thought into, is this: If you could have guaranteed season tickets for life to one and only one IU sport, which one would you pick and why? Because I am not completely unfair, I will stipulate that for the purposes of deciding, you will be allowed to have tickets to other sports if you wish, but you will not be allowed season tickets for the sports not chosen. I know, it's a weird rule, but go with it.
Obviously, there are good choices all around. Having season tickets for IU basketball is excellent when we're excellent, and pretty okay when we aren't. The Assembly Hall experience is worth every minute, and if you're getting guaranteed lifetime season tickets, we'll be sure to spring for the good seats (whatever you feel those are). IU Men's Soccer is also a solid choice, as you're likely to see at least one championship team come through Armstrong Stadium over the duration of your tickets. If you're feeling risky, you could take the chance that IU Baseball has only just begun a golden age of prosperity on the diamond, and have many more years of quality baseball ahead of you.
Or, you could be very risky, like I would be, and choose to have a lifetime season ticket to IU Football. Am I likely to get a lot of down years? Well, maybe; this IS Indiana football, after all, the track record isn't the strongest. But, if the program ever turns the corner and stays good for a long period of time, would there be any more exciting games to go to in Bloomington? Wouldn't bearing witness to the best period in IU football history be worth the risk? I believe so.
So, that question again: If you could have guaranteed season tickets for life to one and only one IU sport, which one would you pick and why? And, go!
