The Big Ten Network announced its prime time schedule this week, and three of the Hoosiers' first four games will be played under the lights. IU opens the season with a 7 p.m. Thursday night game against Indiana State on August 29, and then hosts Navy at 6 p.m. on September 7. After a September 14 day game against Bowling Green, the Hoosiers finish the pre-conference schedule with their toughest pre-Big Ten test, an 8 p.m. game against Missouri. I'm a big fan of this. First, IU's early season night games typically seem to draw better than September day games. Second, for those of us who don't make it do all of the home games, it's much better to be able to devote the daylight hours to outdoor activities and to watch early season college football at night. IU's eight-game home schedule presents and excellent opportunity.
