From an SI.com highlight of NCAA - reminder that UK players threw game(s)
1949: Kentucky defended its NCAA title but only after first falling in the NIT quarterfinals to Loyola of Chicago. Two years later three Wildcats players, including two-time NCAA Outstanding Player Alex Groza, admitted to taking bribes to throw the NIT game.
Unfortunately the NCAA did not vacate records based on that so UK still has wins and crowns that would be vacated if that happened today.
NOT that Coach Calipari would let anything unsavoury happen on his watch.
(The loss in 1975 to UK still burns deeply)
