USA TODAY Sports

Indiana is in first place, for now.

It wasn't always pretty, and the Hoosiers' 2-3 zone, whatever its charms, gave former IU recruiting target Gary Harris lots of good looks from deep. Still, the Hoosiers played well when it mattered and improved to 18-2 overall and 6-1 in the Big Ten. At least for a few hours, the Hoosiers are in sole possession of the Big Ten lead at 6-1, although Michigan (5-1) can pull even with a win at Illinois tonight. Victor Oladipo and Yogi Ferrell, along with Christian Watford, played very well today.

Austan will be by later today or tomorrow with a full recap. Beat Purdue.
