Is the OOC schedule good enough?
They are playing an improved Butler squad in the Crossroads Classic in BLF.
They will most likely get UNC or NC State at home in the B1G/ACC Challenge.
They are playing Ball State at AH.
We also know that they are not playing UK.
My question here is, giving what we know, is this enough? Georgetown might not be that great. UCLA isn't gauranteed (more than likely, though). Butler and one of the top ACC teams are realy the only gaurantees.
The B1G is going to be REALLY strong next year, so a brutal OOC schedule isn't completely necessary. However, I feel like IU needs at least one more top team to replace UK. We have seen the KU and UL talks go down the tube. I am losing hope for a true road game against a marquee opponent to be scheduled. Even a home game against a VCU or a Creighton would be a nice addition to a decent OOC schedule.
I don't think the schedule is terrible, just pretty average. Perhaps a little weak for a potentially #1 preseason team. I have ragged on teams like Cuse for their schedule in the past, so a difficult OOC schedule is definitely something that I am all about, with respect to the difficulty of the upcoming B1G schedule.
What are your thoughts? Weak? Strong? Average? Just right? Don't care?
