Hoosiers will be in the spotlight next year.
This year the Hoosiers had pretty low expectations coming into the season. According to my lovely IU '11-'12 basketball calendar, IU only had 7 games scheduled on national television this year. They also only played 6 Saturday games as opposed to 9 Sunday games. It was clear that after the UK game, and especially after the OSU game, that IU had kind of become a media darling for this season. While a lot of the analysts ragged on them throughout the year, they were still talked about... a lot. ESPN jumped at the opportunity to snag up the second Minnesota game, and even made that commercial with the Wat-Shot that played almost every single commercial break.
I think that next year IU will have an insane amount of nationally televised games. BTN won't see much IU next season. This does mean less Gus Johnson, which is disheartening. However, I gladly accept the exposure. I also expect IU to be a regular on Saturday's next year.
UK(if it remains), Legends Classic, Butler, B1G/ACC Challenge, all games against MSU, OSU, UM, Wiscy will more than likely all be on national TV. Both Purdue games and the Minny games will likely be on national TV as well. ESPN would probably be smart to put the Iowa game(s) on their networks as well after that game in AH this year. I wouldn't even be surprised to see IU games againt Nebraska, Illinois, Northwestern or Penn State on the ESPN family of networks. I'm sure that BTN will try to keep most of those though.
