I'll bet you didn't even realize that IU was in need of an official plaid. Well, we were, but not anymore. After a process that culminated in a public vote on the final four designs, the above pattern, designed by IU senior Linda Xiong of Carmel, won the election. Because I attended IU during the grunge era, and because I have repeatedly told (threatened?) my wife that I plan to convert my entire winter casual wardrobe to include nothing but plaid flannel shirts, this is welcome news. I look forward to seeing the official IU plaid flannel shirt, and hope it won't be exorbitantly expensive (as if that would happen at the bookstore or Varsity Shop!).
