IU seeks its first win in Ann Arbor in four years. This wouldn't be a disastrous loss, but it would be a big win. Go IU!

The effect of the IU pitchforks glowing faintly in the dark was pretty cool, if unintentional.

Oh, Michigan band.
Clearly you lost your way on the road to your high school’s game and came to Crisler instead.

what the eff you guys?
I’m ten minutes late and you have this waiting for me?

god they're hitting everything
that one off a bit of an illegal screen

just gotta weather this storm
their shooting will slow down, we just can’t be out of it by then. Gotta have faith in an ugly start.

Stop turning it over.
Stop allowing wide open undefended threes.
Stop standing around and watching in the lane.

alright screw optimism
this is ridiculous. We’ll be lucky to score 40 at this point

finally a 3 from Hulls
would love to get him going. A 3 or two and we’re back in this
-Contributing Writer at The Crimson Quarry.
Nice little comeback here. Hope they can get it under 10 before the half.
Sigh…I wish I didn’t have to type that.

See, IU, if you'd played like this at the beginning of the game, you might be in the lead right now.

Beat emphatically in the paint. Again. Wake me when something different happens.

well that was decent end to the half run-wise
atrocious finish after the timeout though. I mean what the hell was that?

also it appears I should keep eating dinner

we could use a Michigan Statian start to the second half
and then hold onto it.

Well, at least we switch sides of the court, so I help the rims stay the same size for Michigan as they were for us.

I dunno
not sure if it is fouls or just getting benched. Whatever it is hopefully it lights a fire under him in the second.

Oh, I thought the "Michigan difference" was about $600,000 and half a decade of vacated seasons.

damn Watford is in the doghouse
Remy Abell and Derek Elston starting over Sheehey and Watford.

you can not let him get that easy layup if you're going to foul him
either let him have the basket or foul him hard.
-Contributing Writer at The Crimson Quarry.
Can't complain about the effort for the rebounds, but that foul was unnecessary.
A sassy, brassy, classy lassy.
no that's wrong
if the foul is after the shot and the shot goes in, it is just a foul, the basket and the other way.
-Contributing Writer at The Crimson Quarry.
yeah they called an off the ball foul on Roth
that is idiotic. Who calls that. I thought they were making the call on Remy.

a lot of things that fell in place correctly because of a true post player in Zeller
will be repeated because of a true PG in Ferrell.

next year
IU will be more run proof. That’s the problem with the Hoosiers so far this year. Too many runs going the wrong way. Next year’s class should greatly help with that.

“We’re back” is something that I’ve never endorsed, and those T-shirts make me cringe. IU won’t be back until we beat teams like Kentucky in March, not in December. But even if we limp into the Tournament compared to what looked possible in early January, this season will have exceeded expectations.

see I guess it depends on your definition of back
my definition of being back, is being a threat day in and day out. That hasn’t been true until this year. Back is being a game circled on everyone’s schedules as a game they have to come prepared for. Not national championship contenders like everyone seems to making it out to be. If that is back, then there are very few teams that are or every will be “back” and Purdue never was.
-Contributing Writer at The Crimson Quarry.
we are back
do you remember how easy it was to trounce IU last season or the two before that?
-Contributing Writer at The Crimson Quarry.
we're back to being ranked and (most likely) back in the tournament.
That’s what matters to me. Make the tournament and you have a chance to do some damage since it is such a crapshoot. Anything can happen (except a 16 beating a 1). I’m just effing giddy that we’ll (most likely) get to play at least 1 game in the big dance. That’s what I mean when I say we’re back.

nah
the bottom feeders aren’t that great at home. The problem is we’ve played numbers 1,2,3,4 on the road so far and laid an egg at Nebraska.
-Contributing Writer at The Crimson Quarry.
Purdue is 6 or 7.
and I don’t think many people outside of Purdue fans would argue much with that. IU has one ‘bad’ loss (home against Minn) and Purdue has at LEAST two. Plus you still haven’t beaten a ranked team.Purdue is a bubble team for the tourney while right now IU looks like a 7 or 8 seed. Your hardest conference games are in front of you; ours are officially behind us (except for at home vs MSU).
If you were referring purely to B1G record then I apologize. You’re higher in the standings. For now.

We are not
very good this year but we will finish in the upper half of the B1G and AJ was saying in the B1G. You’ll need to Improve on the road to make the tourney. And we have no bad home losses Mich. and Wisc. can and have beat anyone this year. We will win Saturday that will drop you to 5-7 then you go to Iowa and Minn. plus Msu three more losses thats 8-10 in the B1G. If your not a top 3 seed it don’t matter where you are seeded but I hope you make the tourney. Alot of good kids on this team who have never played post season.
dude
Purdue has won their 3 road games against 3 of the worst 5 teams in the conference. IU has played the top four teams on the road and Nebraska. Don’t even try and compare our schedules. Purdue’s has been a cakewalk in conference to this point and they’re only .500.
This season’s road woes have been more to do with who we’re playing than how we’re playing. Zero room for mistake at Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin. Three of which Indiana was in the games very late.
-Contributing Writer at The Crimson Quarry.
Trivia question for you: Purdue had two really bad seasons in 2004-05 (7-21/3-13), which was Gene Keady’s last season, and 2005-06 (9-19/3-13), which was Matt Painter’s first season. In Painter’s third season, Purdue made a big leap, finishing 22-11 and 9-7 in the Big Ten and making the NCAA Tournament. Do you know how many true road games Purdue won that year? Two. At Penn State and at Northwestern. That Purdue team even lost on the road to a Minnesota team that was worse than any Big Ten team this year. I’m disappointed in IU’s road performance, although only the Nebraska game is a truly bad result. And I’m still more disappointed in the Minnesota home loss than the Nebraska road loss. I don’t bring this up to excuse IU’s play on the road, but to point out that a) it’s not true that you have to get quality road wins to make the NCAA; b) IU has three road wins: Evansville, NC State (looking like a bubble team) and Penn State. That’s not great, but quality road wins are overrated in terms of just making the Tournament. IU’s home loss to Minny is way more damaging to the resume than any of IU’s road losses, even Nebraska.

Also, the Big Ten is a bit tough this year, no?
This season, winning on the road in the Big Ten seems to be more about taking advantage of when a team is having an off-night and/or hanging around and getting the late breaks to edge out the hosts, rather than imposing your will on the competition. By my count, the 18 road wins in the conference have consisted of -
7 Close games:
*Minnesota over Indiana (3pt win)
*MSU over Wisconsin in OT (3pt win)
*Michigan over Purdue (2pt win)
*Iowa at Minnesota (2pt win)
*Illinois at Northwestern (1pt win)
*Purdue at Iowa (3pt win)
*Purdue at Northwestern (2pt win)
6 games where Penn State and Nebraska hosted:
*Minnesota at Penn State
*Wisconsin at Penn State
*Wisconsin over Nebraska
*Michigan State over Nebraska
*Ohio State at Nebraska
*Indiana at Penn State
and then just five other games, one of which was Wisconsin’s three-point shooting debacle against Iowa. The other four show Purdue on both sides of the equation.
*Wisconsin at Purdue
*Purdue at Minnesota
*Wisconsin at Illinois
*Ohio State at Iowa
The greater point being here is that road wins are as hard to come by this year as ever, and while Wisconsin has been pretty impressive on the road (4-1), noone else really has, and Iowa and Purdue have both been slight outliers that can just as easily win on the road as they can lose at home.
Ah. Left one off the final group
Nebraska at Iowa
For comparison's sake...
You’ve listed 19 road wins for conference members in conference. That is 19 out of how many total conference games for everybody?
