Rich Barnes-US PRESSWIRE

It's wait until next year time for IU football again.

IU was more competitive against Penn State than against Wisconsin, and missed some big opportunities early, but ultimately the better team pulled away in the third quarter. This is IU's fifth consecutive season without a bowl game and 18th of the past 19. Oh well. The "wait 'til next year" mantra doesn't seem as hollow this year as in most seasons. And it's now Bucket week, or at least it will be when Purdue and Illinois conclude their slap fight in Champaign.
