Around SBN: Yankees Deny Rumors That Team Is For Sale

Will Sheehey, Verdell Jones III likely to miss Michigan State game.

BLOOMINGTON, IN - DECEMBER 19: Verdell Jones III #12 of the Indiana Hoosiers shoots the ball while defended by Mike Phillips #13 of the Howard Bison during the game at Assembly Hall on December 19, 2011 in Bloomington, Indiana. Indiana won 107-50. (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)

Jeff Rabjohns of IU's Rivals site, via Twitter, reports that Will Sheehey and Verdell Jones III, both of whom were injured last week, will not play in tomorrow night's game at Michigan State. This is makes what would have been a tough game for IU at full strength quite a bit tougher. Rabjohns reports that Jones is "a bit more day to day," which I interpret as allowing us to hold out some hope that we will see Jones against OSU, but not necessarily Sheehey. Bummer, but we've been through worse over the last three years.

Get well soon guys.

We’re counting on y’all.

I see great things in baseball. It's our game - the American game. It will take our people out-of-doors, fill them with oxygen, give them a larger physical stoicism. Tend to relieve us from being a nervous, dyspeptic set. Repair these losses, and be a blessing to us. ~Walt Whitman

FUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

That blows. Wasn’t feeling good about this game already. Better hope that we shoot the lights out if we want to keep up confidence and have a chance.

yeah the feeling I'm getting for this game is

“oh no! we suck again”

I realize that is a rash and very reactionary emotion, but I find it hard to believe that without Jones or Sheehey we pull this one out on the road against a very good Michigan State ball club. Could be wrong but the odds are definitely not in our favor tomorrow.

silver lining

Sheehey and Jones don’t help us much with our weakness (defensive rebounding) nor with our strength vs the Spartans (getting steals). Really, IMHO our chances to win would’ve more compromised by Oladipo or Watford being out.
Still not putting money on the Hoosiers in this one, tho.

Bummer...

Roth and Abel better bring the A games tonight because we’ll need them both. I’m assuming Elston is ok to play tonight, no? He’ll be important underneath for sure.

Elston will be in a face mask but playing

he needs to be all over the boards tonight. I imagine we’ll see Sheehey’s minutes go to Roth, Abell and Etherington. Could see AE get a considerable jump in play tonight.
