your thoughts?
I personally think that if KY had won they would not be upset about the language used. I guess it is really hard to control thousands of college kids who are probably drinking at the game from using "bad word". What are we like 10 years old? Assuming that this did in fact happen it isnt like the university came up with the idea of offending them so bad the other team can't play. Then they are talking about dropping us from their schedule? I guess getting beaten once when your star player isnt playing well equates to giving up entirely.

Yep. It and some other complaints are referenced in my most recent post on the main page. I think that there may be some issues for IU to address, but there definitely is some element of sour grapes, and probably a decent amount of exaggeration.

When did Sports Fans turn Soft?
Rivalries are bitter. When the Game occurs, the Fanbases and the Teams are enemies and hate each other… that is natural. Hopefully when the dust settles after the game, everybody returns to civility. Which it has. Sure a bunch of ridiculous “IU Fans were mean” articles were shat out, but who really cares? The game is over and the season is forging ahead.
I said it before and I’ll say it again, if someone takes offense to what Fans of a Rival Team have to say then “Put your panties back on and get over it.”
I hope UK fans got a verbal bombardment at IU Bars and at Assembly Hall, it shows we’ve got some bite back. Just as I would expect to get an earfull at Rupp or in Lexington or Mackey (or hell, any big Away game in any Sport).
I hope the notorious Philly Fans read this exchange and get a good laugh. “Words don’t hurt, flying objects do.” Clashing Fanbases is a good thing. We saw the IU/Purdue Rivalry hit a dull period over the last few years but is on the way back, so getting the IU/UK and IU/Purdue Rivalries back to where they should be is a positive thing, even if it comes at the expense of Fans barking at other Fans.
On a side note: the “F-bomb” is just a word. A word which you’ve heard a thousand times before. If one is offended by it, I’m pretty sure your ears and pysche will be okay.
My main advice to all Sports Fans involved in a big Rivalry… “Toughen up and quit your bitchin’.”
