Clearly, the one loss teams that had fallen out of the running for the title game, particularly Stanford and Virginia Tech, are the primary beneficiaries of the weekend's chaos. Even Oklahoma State is well within the running. All of the undefeated and one-loss teams have loseable games remaining. As I said above, Arkansas and LSU still play, and the winner plays Georgia in the SEC championship. Alabama plays at Auburn. Stanford hosts Notre Dame. Oklahoma State plays Oklahoma. If my review is correct, then every remaining game involving an undefeated or one loss team involves a ranked opponent. The season is headed for quite a finish.
On the other side, Oklahoma, Clemson, Oregon, and Nebraska all took major hits. Oregon seems the most unfair, but they have to be behind USC considering the head to head loss at home. Thoughts?
