NCAA Tournament day 1 open thread, with official video.
The Hoosiers are on the outside looking in again this year, but this still is a fun time of year, and you can watch the Tournament and comment here.
If you have any trouble with the embedded video, you can launch the Player this way.
The Tournament begins at 12:20 today, but oddly enough, there are no Big Ten teams playing today. Games of local interest include #6 Notre Dame v. #11 Old Dominion at 12:25, #5 Butler v. #12 UTEP at 4:45, and #1 Kentucky v. #16 East Tennessee State at 7:15.

Y'know
I have nothing against Georgetown, and they’re on the verge of seriously janking up my bracket, but I can’t help but hope this might push Abraham towards us.
Very good first day and it’s not even over. Wasn’t it like this last year and then everyone complained it was the worst tournament of all time like they do every year all four #16 seeds don’t win? Can’t wait to have IU back in the mix. Gah. This would be so much more fun if we were.
The only problem with that is that the loss frees up the Georgetown staff to focus on recruiting. The is one of the better days I can remember. There were some upsets, but lots of close games that went the way of the favorite, as well.

Heck of a showing by the Bobcats and Armon with 30
It’s so sad how stacked that 07-08 team really was. The best two players were on their way out (Gordon, White), but the youth with Bassett and Crawford, et al was all set to flourish around this point. And it has for Bassett. That should be our 30 point game, haha.
Bassett and Jamarcus Ellis are the two guys whose departures were toughest to swallow. Such heady players on the court, such meatheads off of it. Still, I’m happy to see him doing well and amazed to realize that he still has another year of eligibility left. What a strange saga his career has been: committed to Missouri, signed with IU, thrown off the team, left UAB after a semester, and now at Ohio ended up leading one of the most remarkable performances in the history of the NCAA Tournament (I don’t think that’s hyperbole; I’ve never seen a team seeded that low play like that).
