Indiana vs. Penn State in D.C.?!

I'm a Penn State grad and native Washingtonian who just got wind that Indiana will shift its 2010 game with the Nittany Lions to D.C. Since I am not a subscriber to the Herald-Times, I can't see anything other than the headline "Indiana to make $3 million by moving Penn State game to DC" . I am very eager to find out the details, so if anyone could pass this along, this blogger and Black Shoe Diaries reader would be most grateful.

Thanks.

As you can see, I posted a story around the same time you wrote this fanpost. All I know is that the game is on November 20, IU gets a $3 million guarantee, and IU has to sell (or eat, I presume) 7,000 tickets. I hate this deal for a number of reasons, but it works out pretty well for Penn State.

It works out great for Penn State

We’re going to make your guys a lot of money that day. 70,000 tickets sold, minimum. With a little push, it could reach capacity. We’ve got second of third largest concentration of Penn State alumni outside of Pennsylvania here. Many recruits are from Maryland and D.C. too, so this will help us there even more.

Blogging about D.C. Baseball since April '04. Penn State alum. Also partial to the Washington Capitals, New York Yankees and Yale football.
