Nick Williams is transferring.
The Bloomington Herald-Times confirms that Nick Williams, who opted out of his letter of intent with Marquette to follow Tom Crean to Indiana, is transferring. This has been the subject of rumors for a few weeks. Here is the season in review post that I wrote not long ago about Williams. Based on the H-T article, it appears that Williams wasn't thrilled about his role in 2008-09 and wasn't optimistic about his prospects for future playing time. Williams was a solid contributor, but as I noted last week, he probably needed to improve his outside shooting to compete for playing time as a guard. It would have been nice if he had stayed, but it also gives Tom Crean a scholarship to work with this spring. Best of luck, Nick.

Welcome.
Nowhere to go but up after 2008-09. And maybe the Cubs will win a postseason game or 10.

Wow,
I don’t really understand this at all. Nick had to be in consideration to start next year so why leave. Just play your hardest and earn a starting spot.
Is there someone that we are looking at bringing in to take this scholarship?
Thanks for the news
I’ve heard that a likely destination is Ole Miss. Since we wrtie the Ole Miss blog, we were looking for more info on Williams. I, foolishly, looked elsewhere before this blog. Great job with this.
