The women's basketball team begins Big Ten Tournament play today at 2:30 p.m. against #11 seed Michigan. Given the way the season began (IU began the Big Ten season 8-2 before a four game losing streak), I'm sure the Hoosiers didn't expect to be playing on the first day of the tournament. If IU wins, #3 seed Purdue will be the opponent. IU won the only matchup of the season, 71-57 in Bloomington. Here's the bracket. ESPN's latest bracketology has IU as the first team out, so a win over Michigan is imperative and a win over Purdue would be a big help.

I'll talk a bit more about the baseball team once the basketball season ends. IU is expected to contend for the Big Ten title, but is off to a bit of a sluggish 3-4 start.

"If you hit .440 with 20 bombs, you don't have to do s---. You don't have to bring a glove to practice, just hit and leave whenever you want. You can bring a 40 and smoke a cigarette and call me from the parking lot asking me what time the game is, and I'll tell you. You can even say 'F--- you, Steve!' Actually, don't say that, that wouldn't be very nice." -Steve Friend, Head Coach, Chabot College Gladiators Baseball
