Probation.
The Hoosier Scoop doesn't say what happened to Sampson and Senderoff. That will be interesting.

Wow. Interesting, John. Seeing as how this all stems from IU's... sleazy coach.

Weber and Painter seem to run clean programs, and good for them. It doesn't change the fact that they are whiny douchebags, just like their mentor. And yes, being a sleaze is worse than being a douchebag.

They're whiny douchebags because they thought someone needs to pay for Sampson's hire? Well, much of the college basketball world is filled with the same type.
You're clearly pissed right now, while understandable, it's unbecoming. I usually like reading what you have to say, but today's venomous entry isn't the norm. Perhaps it'd help your outlook to focus on soccer or women's hoops for the time being?
The incoming football recruiting class looks solid...there's lot of things that are positive in Bloomington...

You come across as angry.
The NCAA is a fraud and the way they resolve issues is laughable. IU gets a slap on the wrist for jumping into bed with a known rule-breaking coach...then getting cozier with him as things got a little warm. Purdue was fined $80,000, lost schollies and forfeited a season of games because an assistant coach broke an NCAA rule.
Seems to me that my theory that the NCAA never slaughters its cash cows, but makes slashes with a big machete on programs that don't generate the revenue is alive and strong.
You can call Weber and Painter what you'd like, but they have a point.

How about talking intelligently instead of name calling? Is that too much to ask?

I thought Painter acted like a complete baby about the Earl Calloway non-incident a couple of years ago. Not the end of the world, but enough for me to form a negative impression of him. Again, I don't expect Purdue fans to agree with me, but such is life. Purdue fans have never conceded the integrity of any IU basketball coach, not even Knight. I'm sure "the Forehead" will do something in the next few months that will work Boiler fans into a permanent, self-righteous lather.

Bottom line is just because they're all lovey dovey in press conferences and other coaches say they "respect" him doesn't mean it's true. Just saying...

The only possible negative on Painter is that perhaps he is too demanding of his players, causing several to transfer in the last 3 years. He demands hard work and dedication to the utmost. This is one of the things that I like about him because it shows in his players and how they play. Players like Kramer and Hummel are great examples. Korey Spates, Nate Minnoy, Chris Lutz, and Scott Martin didn't want to do the work and tapped out.
Painter runs a clean program and does things the right way. He is one of the good guys.

That tells me all I need to know right there. I'll say that he's not breaking rules, but let's just say there's other stuff out there that's "possible." Then again, I'm just a blog commentator, so take that for what it's worth.
