After the chaos of the last couple of weeks and our arrival at the halfway point of the season, I threw out last week's poll and started from scratch. So, there is some significant movement in the poll. My biggest conundrum is what to do with Florida and Auburn. Florida was within a few minutes of the impossible, beating LSU at Baton Rouge. On the other hand, Auburn, after an unimpressive start to the season, did beat Florida at Florida. Currently, I have Auburn ranked at #22, behind #20 Florida. That may change before Wednesday. As it stands, I have trouble dropping Florida as far as I have after such a solid performance, and have a hard time putting Auburn as the best two-loss team, but still, I criticized the Georgia-South Carolina thing a few weeks ago, so I'm chewing on this one. Maybe I should just move them in lockstep, Auburn one pace ahead until one of them loses again.

In my previous post I expressed my pleasant surprise that IU is getting so many votes. After filling out my ballot, I can see why. Pickings get a bit slim for those last couple of spots.

EDIT. Yes, I'm changing it already. Auburn lost to a top five team and to a Mississippi State team that may not be as bad as usual. Florida lost to LSU and Auburn. The quality of Florida's losses is better, but not so much better as to overwhelm the significance of a head-to-head win by the road team. And who was I kidding? They're both better than Kentucky and all the other teams below them.

How can you possibly justify ranking Tennessee? No way they should be there. And why are you going to keep Purdue in there over Indiana? Come on, if you're an IU fan show the Hoosiers some love.

Superstition, my friend. The Hoosiers are getting a surprising number amount of love from pollsters in both the official polls and the Blogpoll. If they beat MSU, I probably will rank them. I'm enjoying this team, and feel good about our chances of getting to 7 wins, which I really do think will be the magic number for actually earning a bowl bid, but I'm still not completely sold. The next two weeks will tell us quite a bit about the Hoosiers.
